Kevin Ford, Sr., M.D.

Dr. Kevin Ford is a native of Scotch Plains, New Jersey and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Rutgers University in 1983 and a Medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 1987. At his Medical school graduation he received the Dr. Norman Lee award for outstanding student pursuing Internal Medicine from the Internal Medicine Department. He completed his Internship and Residency in internal Medicine at Howard University Hospital from 1987 to 1990. During the last year of his Residency he was honored by being named 1 0f 4 chief residents in the Internal Medicine Program.
Once his residency was completed , Dr. Ford took a position at Group Health Association from 1990 to 1993 and was a Clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine and Health Care Science at George Washington University. He relocated to Houston Texas and worked at MacGregor Medical Associates from 1993 to 1994. He returned to the Washington DC area in 1994 to work for George Washington Health Plan . He served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Care Science and Internal Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Care Science from 1994 to 1999. He served as the Associate Division Director of Internal Medicine for the Suburban Health Care Centers from 1997 to 1999.
Dr. Ford left George Washington University Health Plan in 1999 to form a Private Practice Internal Medicine Group, Ayers and Ford PA where he served as the Vice President from 1999 to 2007. He Started a 2 physician Private Practice Internal Medicine group called Ford Medical Associates , PA in 2007 where he currently serves as the President.
Dr. Ford became a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1988 and a Diplomate , of the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1990 . He recertified his Internal Medicine Boards 2000 , 2010 and 2019 . He has been a Member of the National Medical Association and the American College of physicians since 1990. Dr. Ford was elected to become a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2018.
Dr. Ford has been active in the community serving on the Enyi MD Foundation Board from 2009 to 2018 , Serving on the Dr. Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Board 2020 to present , Preceptor for Introduction to patient Care for Howard University College of Medicine students 2017 to 2019 , Panel Member First Baptist Church of Glenarden Health Symposium 2014 , Speaker North Forestville Elementary School “ Steps to Success “ Appreciation Luncheon (2006, 2008 and 2013) . He is also an active member of his Fraternity Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated Gamma Pi chapter located in Prince Georges County Maryland. He has served on the Social Action Committee and is the chairman of the Health Initiatives Committee where he oversees health Fairs and Health Initiative Webinars. He has organized the yearly Dr. Charles Drew Blood Drive since 2008.
